PROPHETIC TIMELINE OF THE MESSIAH

1. In prophecy, what does 'one day' represent?
Read: Ezekiel 4:4-6; Numbers 14:33,34

I have appointed thee each day for __________(4:6)

After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for __________, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. (14:34)

NOTE: In prophecy, 'one day' is symbolic to 'one year.' This is called the 'day-year principle.'

2. How were Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34 written in the original language?
Read: Ezekiel 4:6; Numbers 14:34

(Young's Literal Translation) And thou hast completed these, and hast lain on thy right side, a second time, and hast borne the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days - a day for __________ - a day for __________ I have appointed to thee. (4:6)

(Young's Literal Translation) By the number of the days [in] which ye spied the land, forty days, - a day for __________, a day for __________ - ye do bear your iniquities, forty years, and ye have known my breaking off; (14:34)

NOTE: In the original language, the phrase 'a day for a year' is repeated.

3. In Biblical poetry, what do 'days' represent?
Read: Job 10:5; Job 15:20; Job 32:7; Job 36:11; Deuteronomy 32:7; Psalm 77:5; Psalm 90:9

Are thy days as the days of man? are thy __________ as man's days, (10:5)

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their __________ in pleasures. (36:11)

NOTE: In Biblical poetry, 'days' and 'years' are often used in parallel, showing they mean the same thing. This confirms the 'day-year principle.'

4. How did Jesus describe the length of the His ministry on earth after the death of John the Baptist?
Read: Luke 13:32,33

And he said to them, Go you, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures __________ and __________, and the __________ I shall be perfected. Nevertheless I must walk __________, and __________, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

NOTE: After the death of John the Baptist, Jesus told the Pharisees that He must continue His ministry 'to day [one day] and to morrow [two days], and the third day [three days].' After His baptism, Jesus ministered among the Jews for 3.5 years, not 3.5 days. And so, 'to day [one day] and to morrow [two days], and the third day [three days]' represents 3 years of Jesus' ministry among the Jews. Jesus also applied the 'day-year principle.'

5. How much time was given to Daniel's people and holy city to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy?
Read: Daniel 9:24

__________ are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

NOTE: 70 weeks times 7 days in a week equals 490 days. Based on the day-year principle, these 490 days represent 490 literal years. Hence, 490 years were given to the Jewish people and Jerusalem to â€‹stop their rebellion against God, to put an end to their sin, to reconcile sinners to God, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to end the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
