1. What announcement is made by the second angel of Revelation 14?

3. To whom is the term Babylon applied in Revelation 17?

5. What symbols are used to represent the church, the followers of Jesus Christ?

NOTE: The relationships between God and His people, Israel, as well as Jesus Christ and His followers, the church, are portrayed by a marriage contract. Hence, Israel and the church are symbolized as a woman, the wife of God, the wife of Jesus Christ, a virgin.

There are 3 ways by which the people of God can be guilty of spiritual whoredom or fornication: 
1. By worshiping man-made images or idols (Ezekiel 16:17)
2. By uniting with pagan nations (Ezekiel 23:1-4,​5,7,8,17)
3. By becoming friendly with sinful world (James 4:4)
Therefore, Babylon refers to a church that worships man-made images or idols, unites with pagan nations, and becomes friendly with sinful world.

7. What other characteristics of the woman are described in Revelation 17?

NOTE: The woman sits on seven mountains. The headquarter of the apostate church is on seven mountains.

NOTE: The woman is a great city. The apostate church is also a great city [a city with great power].

8. What do waters symbolize?

The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are __________, and __________, and __________, and __________. : 
(17:15)

NOTE: The water symbolizes peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages. Therefore, the apostate church also controls a large number of peoples from different nations and languages.​

What apostate church fits these characteristics:
1) Worshiping man-made images or idols,
2) Uniting with pagan nations,
3) Becoming friendly with sinful world,
4) Controlling a large number of peoples from different nations and languages,
5) Drunken with the blood of the saints and of the martyrs of Jesus,
6) Sitting on seven mountains, 
7) A great city?

There is only once church that fits all of these characteristics: The Roman Catholic Church.
